The talented, beautiful, amazing you
The way my heart swells when I see your face
How I feel when we embrace
If you could look at yourself and feel my pride in all you do
And know each sensation is honest and true
If you knew, you'd have no choice
But to be genuinely happy at the sound of your voice
More than this, I'd want you to feel the difference you make
And to know the love behind each compliment you take
That you could look at yourself and believe in all you do
And show yourself the same love I give you.

I grew up in a small town in Oregon. In 2nd grade (circa 1984), I was entered into a poetry contest. I won 3rd place and was awarded a small check and a certificate signed by President George Bush Sr. I have been writing ever since.
