Deafening Silence

The feelings you can't share out loud

My thoughts are feelings never said.

As quiet, but as loud as silence.

.....

Silence hits like a tidal wave, washing away a veil of comfort

I shudder in the cloak of loneliness that’s left

Leaving me cold and empty, shivering in a void of lost connections

Echoing a foretelling of a future’s past unchanged

Numbed by the touch of a cold reality, the weight of nothing bears heavy on my soul

Crippled by the absence of company, my depression creeps with a loudness unheard

Enhancing the eerie silence with a deathly hollow that I cannot fill

.....

Your acrostic poem is packed with emotions. The loneliness and pain are clearly felt by your reader. Well done.

  • This is hopefully a top story and a profound strike to the ultimate sense of void and silence we so often ignore.
