Dead Weight Comes as a Disguise
Poems from My Seasons
By Casey StewartPublished 8 years ago • 1 min read

She had wings
Wings of steel
Everyone would say to her,
You can fly.
Look at your wings, so full of might
They shine.
You can be free,
You are free
To fly.
But her wings of steel
They held her down
On the ground she stood
They made her sink
For her, they're no good.
These wings of steel,
They keep her still
Their beauty,
It is not real.
These wings can shine,
They look so nice
But wings of steel,
Can never take flight.
