Pretty posies and peonies
a few might have beens and used to be's
All pieces of a part of me
that somehow slipped away
A time and place in photobooks
that innocence, experience took
What I would give for one last look
into my yesterdays
But those are faded dreams and wishes
over broken promises and dishes
The truth of what it all is
left in a youthful haze
Today demands more than I have
without a way of giving back
A world as hard as white and black
Like rats stuck in a maze
But I still smell those gentle scents
the soft fragrant petals that youth spent
Some memories I will ne'r forget
as my favorite glory days
