CHALLENGE #1: OBJECT WRITING

Day 4/14

“WHAT” Writing

5 minutes – “curb”

I tripped over the curb while walking and watching some other people with a dog on a leash. I went sprawling to the stony concrete, hoping no one saw as I got back to my feet and dusted off my scraped up hands. I could still see the furry black dog panting. He looked happy. The couple were oblkivious to me or the dog, caught up in convrsation and loving ghazes.

10 minutes – “bouquet”

He handed me the fresh bouquet of red roses with a smile and held in the same fist that blackened my eye.

“I love you, Hon - I’m sorry. It’ll never happen again,” he repeated as I accepted the sweet smelling offering. They always smelled the same – like promises I wanted to believe and deceit. But which of us was the greatest deceiver?

I walked to the sink to put the flowers in a vase, displaying his love for all to see. I took a deep breath of the fresh bunch before setting it in the center. This was the routine. I liked the compliments.

90 seconds – “rain cloud”

The rain cloud grew ominous as I rushed for cover to avoid the imminent drenching.
