Daughter Honors

With her art

By Seema PatelPublished 4 minutes ago 1 min read
My daughter's art (she was 4) @Seema

It’s a rough journey,

brutal terrain, ordeals galore

pregnancy, childbirth,

and parenting.

You constantly push yourself back

to ensure they thrive,

not only survive.

I did it all for my little girl,

to the best of my ability,

being her safe harbor,

a shiel against all horrors.

She was watching,

with gratitude for the love,

'thank-you', she was planning.

She learnedto hold crayons.

and painted me in many forms,

in all her arts, I show up,

it means I am swirling,

in her sweet, loving brain,

as knight in shining armor

holding an exalted position.

It is the ultimate honor,

a reward for pain endured,

paid back innocently.
