Darkness Falls

For everyone who has faced dark times.

Darkness may fall across all of your lands

In the still of the night, thoughts come of the end

Focus not on that which causes one's shaking hands

Through the darkness, tests to see if one might bend

--

Let not the darkness fill the well of your soul

Keep it filled with things that fuel your might

Remember the tales of heroes of old

For some things in this lie are worthy of the fight

--

Through suffering comes clarity of mission

We all must walk through the unyielding

The tests of our resolve get us to this position

Embracing the fear, your strength you're wielding

--

Being beaten is not the end of the game

Be swallowed by the darkness falling, some are

Live life to which there's an echo of your name

Never allowing the pains to go too far

--

Wings of an angel await from the devil's hand

A fight awaits the poor souls, feeling their fate

To walk a walk which never gets far, feet stuck in quick sand

All heavy feelings have solutions, which sadly must wait

--

Here him whisper in your ear

Like voices in your head

His voice echoing brings a chilling fear

Your thoughts of the grounds littered with the dead

--

What comes for us all, choices will be tough

Decide a path and take it you must

Be mindful of your feelings and control yourself when it gets rough

Do not succumb to things through your life that will make it a bust

--

Face the demons, both before and on your shoulder

Run hard and fast through the falling darkness to its last

Worry not when exhaustion comes as you get older

Be present in the fight until the darkness has passed

I'm afraid I have not the fight left in me. Just one step in front of the other until there are no more. Still, I must say that yours are good & encouraging words, if not to me, perhaps to someone else.
