Dancer

I am a dancer at heart,

Dancer in mind, body and soul.

An integral part of my identity,

I live dance.

Break of dawn,

Eager to start.

To dream,

To fly.

Soaring through blue skies,

Hurtling through white clouds.

Riding on teal waves,

Sailing along vast grey oceans.

Bliss.

Finding joy through the pursuit of perfection,

Embracing every single challenge,

Celebrating every bit of progress,

Savouring every step of the journey.

Golden sunny day,

Warmth on my back

As I finetune my technique at the studio.

Grey, gloomy weather,

Refreshing crispness

As I skip over puddles,

Carefree, dancing in sheets of rain as though no one is watching.

Cool sapphire night,

Spotlight on.

The real world disappears,

As I give it my all.

I give it my all.

On good days,

On bad days.

On perfect days,

On terrible days.

Because in striving to be the best I can be,

I reach for the stars.

I chase dreams.
