Yes, I'm the weirdo in the car next to you

Headbanging to rock and guitar riffs

Shaking my shoulders and pointing my fingers on cue

Music & Motion are Therapy too

Keep your rage in your cage

while your on your slow dash these days

No traffic can take my joy away

I'm feeling these beats today

Do we really need to rush anyway

Leaving from the main place I have been

Keep true to the little things

melody and flow intrigue with-in

Smile, Twist and Slide

Music & Motion are Therapy too

Don't hide their effect on you

At a presidential or governor demand

We could lose what we have at hand

but those little things

two steps here

two steps there

shimmy shake, shimmy shake

no partner needed

just my playlist

an my willingness to move

On or off beat

knee slapping or toe tapping

My joy is back and I remember once again

I am still free to be me

I wrote this to inspire others to remember to dance even during this time of uncertainty. I love getting lost in the sounds in my headphones. Music and dance can lift the heaviest of hearts. Dancing while cooking, cleaning and yes a little 'shimmy shake dance' when I'm driving seem to lighten my mood and make me smile. Sometimes you may me find me in my facemask with a headphone in one ear while strutting to a beat down a Target or Walmart isle. Give yourself the freedom to move to your favorite song or a song you know you would nail if it was Karaoke night. Who cares if someone sees you. Your happy and having your own moment.
