Dance

A love letter to the dance

By Chelsey O L. DelheesPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

To the cutie in the club,

How I wish you infinite love.

Cocktail laced basement nights

pin-up boys dressed up tight

Ravers, makers

Dreamers, shakers

Ecstasy and psychedelia

dancing to the frequency of love

We sing, we dance;

We break, lock, Jive, cha-cha

We play, we connect

We sip, sniff, drop, pop

inhale… exhale

Club necking and cigarettes,

Smiles that could burst

eyes rolling from space back down to earth

Baring our souls to the disco mothers

skin pressed between each and every midnight lover

Free of sin we bow down to our Queens

Cross our hearts to forever dream.

To the cutie missing the club,

How I wish you infinite love.
