and then,

we lose things,

and people,

and things, and people

over and

over and

over again

but when

will we ever learn?

and then,

life

is always changing,

and moving, and changing,

and moving.

it’s so hard to be still,

to appreciate, to be content

so we do what we do best-

to chase, to compete, to compensate… … … …

and then,

we lose ourselves in the cycle.

lose out at the chance to know someone,

to love and to care for those who matter

those we wish we did not take for granted

it’s all a number’s game

but i didn’t expect i will be

that number

and then the number is called

and my turn is up

and then,

and then,

that’s when

i will learn.
