Shot Me With Your Love

Lightning flashing across velvet sky

Lightening bugs in a jar

The love light shining in your eye

I almost come undone.

*

Bonfire flames of passion lit

The spark at our first meeting

Thirty years ago today

Our love heart’s still beating.

*

Cupid cast her goddess arrow

And shot me with your love

Never known a love like this

Goddess archer’s sowed.

*

Each day my heart bestowed

Joyous arms surround

The embodiment of dreams come true

My wife, her love profound.

*

From our first kiss

The blush of youth abound

To this day on our porch

With grandkids all around.

*

I’ve never known a life so full

Two spirits so entwined

I couldn’t live without your love

So beautiful and heaven-bound.

*

My sweet, my soulmate, my love light shines

From my heart to your own

Two lives we’ve lived as one

Since Cupid’s arrow found.
