In the depths of the sea,

Where the water runs free,

Lives a creature so odd,

A cucumber, of sorts, but with a bod.

Skin like leather,

A gonad that's clever,

The sea cucumber, you see,

Is an echinoderm, a wonder to me.

Branched, it lies,

Beneath the great sea's guise,

Its singular form, unique,

A sight that is truly chic.

Found the world over,

On the sea floor, it's a rover,

Exploring the depths,

A creature that tests.

Sea cucumbers, we say,

Are a marvel each day,

With their shape so rare,

In the ocean, they're beyond compare.
