and Other Wonders of Nature

Honey drips into my eye

sweet and warm as it spreads

good cheer through an iris of

gold and chocolate.

My ears water at the sight

of the sunset painting the sky

in bleeding, shifting watercolors

until the ink of night

suffocates one star with billions.

Music rings in my nose

as the resonant notes

build up in a birdsong chorus

with cicada-ian rhythm

buzzing underneath.

My fingers glow with the scent of daffodils

bright and mellow

while the musk of rain reaches out and

touches me from afar

leaving aching echoes in my bones.

Electricity tingles on my tongue

alive and arcing in exquisite heat

as a cold bath coats my tastebuds

in icy numbness and

sweet relief.

About the Creator

Maia Gadwall the metAlchemist

I fell in love with speculative fiction and poetry many years ago, but I have precious little time to write any. Then, I went crazy and started a cult called metAlchemy, or meta alchemy. I revere energy of all brands, esp. good, kind chaos.
