Have you ever felt loved
But not appreciated
Have you ever felt joy
But you ain't happy
Because of one reason
Just one reason alone
I walk through this path of loneliness
Asking, when deep down I know the truth
Now I know that sometimes
The right decision made by the brain
Isn't always the right decision for the heart
But the question is
Which do I listen to
On one hand, I have friends, allies, and myself
Saying one thing
Then on the other, there's my heart, my feelings,
That special person saying another
It really is confusing, if only I had an answer
So it appears I'm faced with crossroads
On one road, my so-called 'friends' are calling me,
My brain forcing me to go
But on the other, it's lonely, and no one else sees it but it's there
I feel more attached emotionally to the second road
For reasons which I myself know not of
I close my eyes, take a deep breath
I head for the second road
I hope I made the right choice.
“Crossroads” explores the emotional struggle of choosing between one thing or the other. For me, it is mearly the decision of which field of study to pursue, between science related or art related courses. I feel torn between the security of science and the creative freedom of art, fearing the consequences of making the wrong choice. For another it could represent some other difficult choices each with their own rewards and consequences.

The right decision made by the brain Isn't always the right decision for the heart- what a deep, true line! Great Poem!
love the way you distinguished between two things that seem similar but aren't that's where poetry is... that's where depth and understanding is...
I resonate with this so much! Really good!
