beyond the boundary

toes curl on the edge of the world

knees bent as they plummet themselves into the plush of the clouds

the children of time and guardians of creation

their skin is rich, rich as their mother

and their tongue native to existence

jubilant, their cheeks tinted cherry

flames bruise the horizon and they land

gently into the hands of their home

"did you have fun?" She asks with a smile

they nod and curl together

children of time and guardians of creation

sleep in their mother’s arms

"until next dawn my souls"

β€” Earth never forgot her children
