Crazy In Love
Carved In Stone
he was swept up in the moment
she was swept up in his arms
she wondered if she loved him
or just swept up in his charms
he offered her forever
she offered him, her heart
would they always be together
or would they be torn apart
she became the question
that love begged for him to answer
a last chance to find heaven
and happily ever-after
or would they crash and burn
with love, you rarely can ever tell
so many lessons to be learned
to avoid going through hell
when he paused for a moment
at the spark in her eye
he offered her a stone
much to her surprise
now once a year, he will visit
when there is no one around
but for only a minute
and leaves a rose on the ground
neath the stone that he gave her
when he ended her life
there was no way he would ever
make that woman his wife

A poem of life and death and then the wondering why events happened.
Such a brutally heart-wrenching poem, Kelli. May he find his fingers pricked painfully & without forgiveness every time he delivers it, & may it continue to goad him for months, easing up only so much as to allow it to torture him even more painfully on the next occasion. Yet even so there is grace for such a one--which is a sure guarantee that I'm not the one who's in charge of it.
Yowza! I did not see that one coming - you are amazing, my friend!
Absolutely wild ending! Great poem!
Now, that's the Kelli I expect <3 Love the little twist <3
Whoah! That was a shocking ending there, Kelli!
