Crawling Through Life
A Beating Heart
Wanting to be okay but you don’t know how
Longing for healing but you don’t know when
Searching for answers for you don’t know why
Reaching out for help but you don’t know who
Loneliness has befriended you
Telling you that you’re all alone
Confidence has left you
So you feel you’re on your own
Motivation visited you
But you’re sick to the bone
Hope is passing through
But you’re in your zone
These are the days that no words can convey
These are the times when you’re far from fine
These are the moments when you just want to vent
These are the nights that you can’t see the light
Your sorrows have sewn you
Your anguish has absorbed you
Emptiness has filled you
Helplessness heard you
You never wanted to be in this situation
And be pulled by your emotions
You never thought that you’d be living
And always long for healing
If you can’t fathom these feelings
If you’ve never experienced this
If you can’t understand this
Please, consider yourself fortunate
For not needing to understand it
You're doing fine
And I will be fine
Poem’s Background Story
I wrote this poem as a reflection to my crawling life in 2023.
My mode at that time was really "crawling"- dragging myself to survive.
I was breathing to survive. Not really living. Like there was no point of my life here. Hence the title of this story.
Now, fortunately, I’m in a better place by choosing to see a ray of hope every day. ❤
For someone who is in a dark place now, thinking that there’s no way out, please don’t give up.
Take one day at a time.
A ray of hope will soon arise.
For you and I.
