Cracks That Shine

Finding Light in Life’s Hardest Moments.

By GigglesPublished 9 months ago 1 min read

In a small house with walls that are cracked,

A family lives, though they don’t have much stacked.

The roof may leak and the floor may creak,

But together they’re strong, even when they’re weak.

The father works hard with hands rough and tired,

His body worn out, his spirit required.

He comes home late, often feeling low,

But he always says, “Tomorrow, we’ll grow.”

The mother, her heart big, her voice sometimes stern,

Does the hard work, but doesn’t always return

A smile when things feel heavy and tight,

Yet she wakes at dawn, ready to fight.

The kids argue loudly, then laugh all the same,

Their dreams are big, though their pockets are plain.

They wish for more, but still, they hold tight,

To the bond they share every single night.

They fight, they shout, they throw words that sting,

But in the silence, love starts to sing.

The father’s old shoes, the mother’s tired eyes,

The kids who don’t quit, even when they despise.

The bills pile up, the food runs low,

But they always find a way, even when the winds blow.

They may not have much—just each other, and care—

But that’s all they need, and it’s more than fair.

The kitchen smells of rice, dal, and spice,

The windows wide, letting in the night’s slice.

Though life isn’t easy, and money is tight,

They stand strong together, through every fight.

For the cracks in the walls don’t make them fall,

They let in the light, they stand proud and tall.

In their arguments, their tears, their fears,

They stick together, through the passing years.

They don’t have wealth, but they have each other,

In their little world, there’s no need for another.

Through hard times, through pain, through every test,

They hold on tight and give their best.

And when the storm ends and the calm comes through,

They stand together, strong and true.

Because love is the treasure, the strength they share,

In their little home, they find hope and care.
