Cowardly Stars

You are so cowardly, O stars!

You only come out at night!

Sometimes,

in the tear-soaked, caring darkness,

you hide

in a fragrant moonlight veil.

Sometimes you,

like countless nails of light,

get embedded

in the body of darkness.

Neither living nor dying.

You are so cowardly, O stars!

You've never seen

how radiant and endless the day is.

You've never seen that star

that only comes out during the day,

armed with shining spears,

holding a golden mace in its hand.

The brave warrior passes alone

from the arc of the horizon,

through the borders of sorrow and joy,

advancing fearlessly,

and finally reaches its destination

in the chaos of evening.

You are so cowardly, O stars!

You only come out at night!
