Coward

by Sam Harty

By ᔕᗩᗰ ᕼᗩᖇTYPublished about a year ago 1 min read

I'm a COWARD

you heard it

FIRST here.

I can't get

my HEART back

from the one

I hold most

DEAR. She broke

it into pieces

and VANISHED in

a puff. But I keep

BEGGING her back

I guess

I don't know when

ENOUGH is ENOUGH.

Maybe the problem

is I have no PRIDE

I let this

UNRECIPROCATED

love tear me up

INSIDE. I should

move on but did

I mention I'm a

COWARD. I don't

want to be alone

not even for an

HOUR. But I'm

already ALONE you

say, and yes I know

this too

but I still wear

her RING

and her bracelet

so I can PRETEND

it isn't TRUE.

I know letting her

go and MOVING on

would be the right

thing to do. I wish

there was a potion

a MAGIC elixir

or a pill

that would MAKE me

FORGET her even if

against my WILL.

So what am I to DO

where can I even

START because when I

first met her I had

FINALLY

been COURAGEOUS

and ignored my

CHICKEN HEART.
