COVID Returns

We thought we had kicked it to the curb

That the pandemic was finally dead

But the virus came back with a punch

And now we're all filled with dread

We thought we had it figured out

That we had this whole thing on lock

But the virus proved us wrong

And now we're in for another shock

We must remember all we've learned

And use it to our advantage

Wear our masks, keep our distance

And not let our guard down, we must manage

We must come together once again

And do our part to slow the spread

We must be vigilant and careful

And not let our guard down, or we'll end up in bed

The return of COVID-19

Is a reminder that we can't be complacent

We must take care of ourselves and others

And do everything in our power to stay present

We will overcome this challenge

Just like we always do

We'll beat this virus once and for all

And then we can finally go back to being asymptomatic and new.
