COVID-19

a poem for my mom who has Long COVID

By amiracdotesPublished 5 months ago 1 min read

Coronavirus.

the 19th dumb bitch in my life.

except this one is personal.

on my momma, you really on my momma.

like, leave her ass alone, you is so 4 years ago.

like, move around or get grabbed, foreal though.

your intrusion is nothing but confusion thinking you can take her. break her. make her curse the days.

it’s just a phase.

as the old would say and the new would hate, it’s just a phase.

you got hooked on one who cannot be loyal,

you kissed a girl and you liked it,

your lil emo days and tomboy ways…

it’s time to move on.

move on and away, long COVID CANNOT be here to stay, she has shit to do.

mommy, you should be lounging in your new PH. D.

mommy, you should be drinking “mocktails” by the sea.

mommy, you still have so many years of love, laughs, and travelling in that dream RV.

mommy, you should be changing lives one sweet soul at a time because real recognize real and long covid is too bitter for you.

i haven’t said it enough lately.

but, i love you.
