Counting Stars
I lay beneath the silent skies,
A thousand lights before my eyes.
Each star a spark, a whispered name,
No two above the same.
I count them slow, a soft refrain,
Like scattered dreams that still remain.
Some burn so bright, some softly glow,
A quiet world I’ll never know.
The night unfolds its silver seams,
A film alive of distant dreams.
I trace the patterns near and far,
A silent wish on every star.
And though the dawn will soon appear,
These stars will shine though not as clear.
For even hidden in the day,
Their silent glow won’t slip away.

I've been writing poetry since the age of fourteen. With pen in hand, I wander through realms unseen. The pen holds power; ink reveals hidden thoughts. A poet may speak truth or weave a tale. You decide. Let pen and ink capture your mind❤️
