Cottage/core
They raised pretty girls on pretty farms
Sewed ruby rhinestones into their dresses
Braided lavender into their long blonde hair
Sang lullabies into those diamond pierced ears
And told them “You are beautiful, you are enough”
While they shared dinner over their successes
They raised perfect children on perfect farms
And fell in love with those raised exactly like them
Stable and in love yet obsessed with their heads
Walk straight in a line and pick the cherries
Add cream and sugar and bake for the neighbors
Oh sweet one, won't you lay out the picnic spread
Beautiful perfect sweet one must live on the farm
Carry out the traditions of the farm, oversee the happiness
Of mommy and daddy's communal living farm
An oasis of prosperity and picture perfect peace
Tell darling she can only wear skirts below her knees
Gift our God given son a bottle so he can drink to ease
Birth perfect little children, obedient little citizens
Get to work so they can pop out underneath that skirt
We are like our ancestors, better than modern man
Start cursing the wicked and praising the table spread
We are all our heavenly father's children at the end of the day
Run away from the skyscrapers, don't run back to the display
Money thirsty? The bottle is your friend
Nature hungry? The flowers are your bed
Intertwine your holy bodies, hold her down by the arms
So you can raise pretty little girls on this pretty little farm
