Corrupted Lies
A Crown Cinquain inspired by Dharrsheena Raja Segarran's poem, "Clandestine"
Lies
Corrupted whispers
Causing only pain
Shadows grow, truth evades
Hopeless
*
Hopeless
Stumbling blindly
Toward a light
That quickly fades away
Darkness
*
Darkness
All alone
No guiding light
To lead the way
Lost
*
Lost
In dark
No way out
Falling without a sound
Deception
*
Deception
Only lies
Can be told
By your treacherous lips
Lies

Okay so, this is the first Crown Cinquain I've ever written, and I think it turned out okay. It's not a traditional one, I did the poem by the 1-2-3-4 word scheme as opposed to the syllable count version, but I'll be doing one of those soon.
I was inspired to write this after reading the Crown Cinquain "Clandestine" by Dharrsheena Raja Segarran; it was so amazing, I decided to try one myself!
You can check out her story here! (Trust me, it will be worth your time):

This poem is a little dark and sad for my taste, however, it is beautifully executed. Nicely Done!!!
Hey you may not have followed the exact format but it was soooo brilliantly executed! Well done! Also, thank you soooo muchhhhhh for the shoutout! 🥰🥰🥰
🤎This poem is incredibly powerful in its stark simplicity and raw emotion. The line, "Falling without a sound," truly embodies the crushing weight of deception and despair. It's hauntingly beautiful, a visceral portrayal of heartbreak and isolation.
