As a virus spread across the land, we soon withdrew from shaking hands

We couldn’t cough or sniff or sneeze, for others would think we had the disease

People laughed , they panic bought! But right now it’s gotten fraught

Our elderly, our ill and low immunity, need help from their community

Come together in times of need, helping neighbours, do good deeds

If your neighbours all alone, knock the door or ring the phone!

Make sure that they aren’t in need, just ask them! Be a friend indeed

So wash your hands, cover your mouth, if you’re ill ,stay in your house!

Keep an eye on those less firm, take them shopping but no germs

May we all get better soon, from the stupid in full bloom!
