Contradictions.

Life is so confusing.

So many ups and so many downs.

So many opposites.

So much to do, to live up to.

So many opinions and standards.

So many things that run through my mind on a daily basis.

Be happy. But not arrogant.

Gotta work, gotta make money.

Need to stay home and take care of the kids.

Feed them. Clean them.

Make sure they’re happy. But not spoilt.

Let them watch their shows, but not too much.

Be strict, but be relaxed.

Teach them. Take them to school.

Make the lunch, pack the bags.

Take the library books back.

Don’t forget anything.

Don’t forget the show and tell, the daily news.

Submit the forms. Make the payments.

Let them have chocolate, but not too much sugar.

Be loving and connected, but don’t let them get too attached.

Breastfeed. But not for too long.

Don’t sleep with them, cuddle them.

Exercise. But don’t get obsessive.

Look good. Not too thin. Not too fat. Not too muscular.

Don’t eat too much. But eat enough.

Eat healthy. But go out with friends.

Have enough protein.

Get enough sleep.

Be fun, but be responsible.

Don’t worry too much, but just enough.

Have a clean house.

Wash the clothes.

Cook the dinner.

Wash the dishes.

Do the shopping.

But don’t spend too much money.

Be fashionable. But, again, not arrogant.

Take care of your skin, but be tanned.

Wear make up, but not too much.

Take medication if you need it, but you shouldn’t.

Don’t be heartless. But don’t be too emotional.

Don’t give a fuck. But also give a fuck.

Be selfless, but also be a little bit selfish sometimes.

Take care of the people around you, and also yourself.

Speak your mind, but don’t say things at the wrong time.

Love yourself, but don’t be egotistical.

Don’t worry about getting dirty, but stay clean.

Feel grateful but don’t show off.

Don’t be loud, but don’t be quite.

Don’t get anything wrong but learn from your mistakes.

Think about your future, but live in the present.

Speed up and slow down.

Understand everything, while you understand nothing.
