Contradiction

A life inside me

By Ella GracePublished 4 years ago 1 min read

What is my place in a world so cruel yet so full of light and beauty too

For when I look outside

what I see, do I reflect

the world held in me

Does my blood move inside my veins as rivers run down to

the ocean sitting as my heart

It’s mystery in depths of precious blue

Can it be that I hold eco systems

Weaving delicately through

Dancing in reverence

Keeping life running smooth

Am I wild like the jungle

Soft like just fallen snow

Am I cold like the summit of a mountain

Harsh like strong winds that blow

Can I live amongst the songs of birds

alive in the early morning glow

Or deep within the dirt as life flourishes in plants unseen below

I look around at the world we’ve bound in shackles unyielding to a life

on the earth we used to know

and wonder can my place possibly sit somewhere between them both

Can I bring the art of nature, a life that lives inside my head

to hang in air that runs through ears already engrossed in debt

Is the noise now too great to find a place amongst straight lines

In a world borne of structures

grey

Laden deep with crimes

Or

Can I let my voice be heard, a roar tearing through

My passions burn bright and hot like the wildfires do

To set ablaze a life prescribed for one of Love

Fierce and True.
