Contagious,

A word that causes fright,

A virus that spreads,

Clearly, an unpleasant sight.

An illness that travels,

From person to person,

Getting in our way,

Infecting like a poison.

We try to protect ourselves,

Staying away from those sick,

Washing our hands,

Hoping to avoid the worst of it.

But some illnesses are strong,

And our efforts may fail,

We can only hope and pray,

That soon it will be curtailed.

So let's be mindful always,

And keep illnesses at bay,

Stay healthy and fit,

And keep contagion away.
