Lost amongst the catacomb of amber flames

Liquid sapphire seep from her evergreen eyes

Ballet of warmth delivered into the crosswind

While the strings of the mandolin ricocheted from her touch

Sunflower petals pulled and trampled beneath her feet

Her odyssey became the driftwood floating in

Quicksilver waters

Twist and turns take her to undiscovered banks

Pebbles and rocks beating against hollowed sobs

Leaving phantom masks of pain

Her guard conquered and the dark consumed

her lodestar and might

Iridescent moon rays kissed her woodwind scream

of night

Sandstone walls and windswept hair kept her from

seeing her pinnacle of sanguinity

love poems
