It’s difficult to establish sincerity, and harder to do so in the digital era.

It’s a rare, but constant flame when found, burning on to reveal sometimes harsh truths. Fake news, unfiltered videos, and miscommunicated messages are a dime a dozen, and these can send anyone into a tizzy.

It's hard to tell which will burn on and which will extinguish before its time.

May we always seek these pure beacons of light, and may they keep burning.

Candle

So luminous,

Ever clear and constant,

Burning away falsehoods,

Its light unveils in darkened shadows-

Pure light.

Steady flame burning through the dark

Holds up the purest hearts,

Searing all the

Pretense.

This is a really beautiful piece that reads very similarly to a prayer. Very well done, Michelle!

  • Yes, may they always keep burning. Loved your poem!

Hi there, my insights don’t work but I would have ticked every one. I am sitting in my Psychiatrist’s office waiting for an appointment. Life if not easy for me as my mental illnesses are especially active. I saw a newly posted story and what a privilege it is to be here. ‘May we always seek these pure beacons of light, and may they keep burning. * Burning away falsehoods, Its light unveils in darkened shadows- Pure light’ * Thank you are probably the best words. And gratitude. I feel less disconnected. Your evocative words and sentiments echo my own. But I could not have achieved with such grace. With kindness Pauline 🌸
