Consistency
a villanelle

I have known nothing but this
Its' projections manipulate my vision
A companion that lives to reminisce
-
It is a perpetual deafening, convulsing hiss
Mangling my eardrum with incision after incision
I have known nothing but this
-
A presence that detects and then repels bliss
By injecting and then procreating derision
A companion that lives to reminisce
-
A sourness thickens the air without remiss
Mimicking the bile with precision
I have known nothing but this
-
Regret dangles me over our abyss
One that was forged with years of collaborative revision
I have known nothing but this
A companion that lives to reminisce
