I see a man sitting alone by the tree,
It's dark, it's calm
Not a soul around to see.
The man is gazing away
Not a smile to crack, not a word to say
I don't know what's caught his interest
I'm curious,
Drawn to the scene now, like unquenchable lust.
I pick up the pace,
I walk toward his space
But he seems to go further and further away.
The closer I get the more he goes astray
It's like I'm walking in a dream
But everything is so real I want to scream!
I'm enchanted more than ever.
I need to see him, like a forlorn lover
I need to meet this charmer, this enchanter, this conjurer;
Just when I feel like giving in
There's a new surge of energy that engulfs me from within
Instantly, I feel a sense of calm
I am right behind the tree at the distance of an arm
My mind is quiet, my eyes are observing
All that matters is this place, this feeling, this moment.
I feel so sure, so right, it's unnerving
There's a burst of light on the other side of the tree
I walk up to it, stunned but what I see
It's not a man or a woman by the tree
That ball of light, it's really just me.
I'm looking at myself like I never have before
It's me but just different, so elegant, so pure
I feel happiness like I didn't know what it really meant until this moment
I feel humbled like it's a feeling I've been alien to, so potent
I smile every time I think back to that time
It was unlike any other, devoid of sin and crime
I was reborn that day, it's a treasure untold
When I met my source of energy, my ancient soul.
