It's easy to choose when only you will bruise

There's no pressing pause cause you know that the cost

is dredging the past; it comes up so fast

How who you were could only infer

that who you are has lowered the bar

Highlighting the flaw; just dig in the maw

How yesteryear you were different my dear

and this whole view can only be new

Remember this stress is housed in your chest

No light of day but cool of night

puts thoughts to front to and tears to flight

The beat is dim and so it feels

you might crush doubt under your heels

or maybe the care is starting to fade

the only good outcome is the one that you've made

Expectations purview you'll start to eschew

that the only way out is starting with you

controlling the heart and holding the poise

because the stickler for choice is owning the voice.
