The brain contains a confidence zone that can be activated regardless of how it is triggered. It can be difficult to distinguish between genuine confidence and confidence that comes from simply standing tall. These elements, like our well-being and smiles, work together. Oxygen is crucial for physical and mental vitality, and a lack of it can quickly affect our abilities. Lack of confidence is often linked to poor breathing or breath-holding. Professor Patrice Hagard Borg, a psychiatry professor at New York Medical College, says that breathing correctly can calm the mind and improve breathing. The brain has two operating principles. The limbic system tries to avoid pain and seek pleasure, so our decisions are often based on the ratio of pleasure to suffering. The brain apprehends situations through contrast. In the case of future actions that scare us, it's not the situation itself that stops us, but rather how we perceive it. We see fewer drawbacks in not taking action. It's easier to stay put than to dare. However, changing our perception can make us more willing to take risks. Even if someone has a gun to their head, changing their pleasure-to-suffering ratio through contrast can make it easier for them to take action. Fear is simply an erroneous perception of reality. Finding and utilizing a big enough reason behind our actions can provide the necessary energy. Mental representations greatly impact our emotions.
