Confession

a poem

By Mariya MorosovskaPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Bittersweet and ever lovely,

Here I bring my gifts to you:

A spark of joy, an effervescent

moment with a golden hue;

A dream of passion, red

And blinding,

A sun that burns beneath my skin;

A broken promise, so astounding

It swims in mottled depths of blue;

What will you do

with all my colours?

What thoughts are running through your mind?

I breath while breaking through the silence.

There’s others yet for you to find.

Here is the purple of my sadness;

Here is the auburn of my love;

Inside my ribs there’s so much madness

Perhaps you wouldn’t really mind?

I lay my gifts out for you gently,

A hope that’s budding green and new

Laid bare my colours flicker, madly

Maybe, I hope, you’ll flicker too.
