The city is a beast, a sprawling entity

With streets for veins and buildings for bones

Its people, the cells that make it alive

But also the fuel that keeps it going

***

Some thrive within its concrete walls

While others are consumed by its hunger

The wealthy feast on the poor's despair

And the powerful prey on the weak

***

But amidst the chaos and corruption

There are sparks of hope and resistance

Like flowers growing through cracks in the pavement

A reminder that beauty can still be found

***

In this jungle of concrete and steel

We must learn to survive and adapt

But never forget to fight for change

For a better world, for true equality.

***

But it's not just the city, it's the world we live in

A system built on oppression and greed

Where the rich get richer and the poor are left behind

A never-ending cycle of injustice and deceit

***

But we must not lose sight of what's right

We must not let cynicism cloud our minds

For as long as there is breath in our lungs

We have the power to make a difference

***

We must be the light in the darkness

The voice for the silenced and oppressed

For it is not enough to simply survive

We must strive for a world that is truly blessed

***

With equality, love, and compassion

Where everyone has the chance to thrive

For only then can we truly call it a home

And not just a place where we merely survive.

The poem is a metaphor for the complexities of modern society, specifically the city, as an entity that is both alive and destructive. The city is portrayed as a beast, with streets for veins and buildings for bones. The people are depicted as cells that make the city alive, but also as the fuel that keeps it going. The poem highlights the contrast between those who thrive within the city and those who are consumed by its hunger. The wealthy are described as feasting on the poor's despair, and the powerful are depicted as preying on the weak. However, the poem also emphasizes the presence of hope and resistance, represented by flowers growing through cracks in the pavement.

The poem also reflects on the larger societal issues, such as the system being built on oppression and greed, where the rich get richer, and the poor are left behind. The poem encourages the reader not to lose sight of what is right, not to let cynicism cloud the mind and to strive for a world that is truly blessed with equality, love and compassion where everyone has the chance to thrive.

In summary, the poem is a commentary on the societal issues of inequality, oppression, and the struggle for justice, and it encourages the reader to fight for change and strive for a better world.
