Competition

Poem

Oh the Audacity!

Oh the Attitude!

Is all what goes on in her head.

She tries to stop it but it goes on and on and on.

Competition, everything is a competition

To her, life itself is like a race to the finish line

She does not understand that it more like a marathon

Where people go at their own pace

She does not understand that there are some things special to her

And some things special to others

Gifts and purposes are unique to everybody

That is something she knows and yet still fails to understand

Then, there is a new girl

She eyes her carefully

Analyzes her every move

Both her weaknesses and strengths

Yet, she is surprised

There seems to be no weaknesses at all

And strengths great in number

There! Another opponent to beat, she thinks

But still she has a lot to understand about the world

She's failed many times

The perfection of this new girl gathers disappointment in the pit of her stomach

She shrugs of the feeling, smiles and gets excited for the new healthy competition that awaits her.
