A Poem

It’s the end of the day

Take me to the house of cards

Take to where the bards play

Take me out to the yard

Where we can be merry

With plenty of beer and lard

Lords and ladies

Laden heavy with wealth

Packed around their waste

Food and drink flowing in such haste

Such little time to get a full taste

Take me to where men sew a tale about their deeds

And the women that know better laugh in their face

Take me to the halls where friend greets brother

Where we gather

Father, mother, son, daughter, friend, sister and brother

Take me to a world unlike this one

A merry time

Like no other

Loving the slightly dark but fun, longing tone in this one. Sounds like the place to be! ☺️👍

A darkly merry vision indeed. Like a mediaeval banquet. Hope you have a good and merry day, wherever you are. With plenty of lard.
