Comings and Goings

A Poem

Even the old habit of stopping at the corner stand

Came to a halt. I’d started each day with that tea,

Lapping up its earthy energy. Then a bright chat

Imbued the procession of my day like the sun’s rays

Pull up the languid foliage. But no more, not again?

She took her brew and steeping bag and hid away –

Ever to be gone? Oh, my treasured commencing!
