Coming Back
Returning to the live music scene post pandemic
I really feel like I've been here before.
I look around, the sights and smells lingering more.
More familiar, the music. I listen, I feel.
A weight starts lifting, my soul starts to heal.
Once crowded to the brim, large chunks of people bouncing in unison.
Now it is "Stay safe," "six feet," "masks on," the matching souls of music lovers distant.
Nobody cares, as the world opens back up.
As the musicians begin, the whole place erupts.
Though six feet apart, the gap closes with our ears and our hearts.
We listen, we feel, eyes closed, a healed core.
Welcome back, we've all been here before.
