I saw the sun rise

her golden glow

a glorious fanfare

of light and warmth

evicting the darkness

smiling sunshine

with happy disregard

as dark evaporates

into thin air

sun-kissed spectacles

golden fringes hang

from weathered oaks

little birds bathed

in sunlight

flit between fenceposts

Glory shines down

upon Creation

and I'm a witness

because

I saw the sun rise.
