Come, the King Awaits!
A Poem About The Second Coming Of Jesus Christ
The King of Kings, known, renowned, and unknown!
Revelation is You, and You are the revelation, o King!
Of whom all creation must stand in awe
Jesus, that Blessed King,
Christ the Lamb, the Lion, the Light, the Life.
Which once was slain, and will slay: You illuminate, You revive
God Almighty, the Alpha, the Omega
Gave You a name far above any other name named and unnamed
Unto Your name, every knee shall bow
Him alone shall every tongue confess
To the glory of the Father
Show me Your mercies!
Unto You I do cry out, nay, howl!
His name is a strong tower
Servants of His, run unto it
Things on earth and things in heaven
Which he fast fashioned by the blasting breath of His nostrils
Must worship Him
Shortly He comes!
Come ye that serve Him
To the banquet of the King, He awaits
Pass through His gates with thanksgiving;
And into His courts with praise!
He has invited you, too, my friend, He did!
Sent His only begotten for bruising
And scourging, just for you: that’s His invitation card
Signified by blood, death, life.
It was written, prophesied
His first coming fulfilled it;
Angel Gabriel pronounced it
Unto us a Son is given, Isaiah the prophet had declared it
His second coming is imminent
Servant, arise! The King awaits! The Spirit showed it,
John the Saint wrote it.
