Come on, Comfort. Show me what you've got.
a poem about what brings me comfort <3
It happens on the first page - "Look, I didn't want to be a half-blood.". Every single memory comes back like a flood, and I welcome it. Hello again, old friend.
Your birthday was the other day, it's kinda funny how you'll always be seventeen. I first read you in the days of homework, ice cream, and cut grass - now it's work clothes, ironing, and caffeine.
We grew up together, you and I. And the way I feel has stayed the same. I'll flick through the pages and suddenly it's a waiting game. How long before the comfort kicks in?
It happens within the first ten minutes - "No, Scoob, friend's don't quit.". I'll be honest I've seen that movie more times than I'd like to admit.
It's just nostalgia wraps me in a blanket and offers me a safety the world never could. And it's true, comfort allows me to act like a child during the hardships of adulthood.
There's no place I'd rather be than tucked up in bed, re-watching Scooby on TV. But honestly, there's nothing that can beat a good cup of tea - unless, I guess, I won the lottery.
And, it happens when I see their face - "Oh my god, how has it been four years?". The sound of their laughter is music to my ears - hello again, old friend. (Although this time, this one's real)
I remember your smile as if no time has passed. It's funny really, how the comfort your friendship brings has been steadfast.
So whether it's books or movies, or food, or friends, comfort knows no home apart from the space in my heart. It sits there, taking up room, filling my life and - without it? I would simply fall apart.

How CUTE does that doggo look btw? I want to be that comfy all the time!

Yeah this was seriously good - what great and captivating imagery!
Beautifully done! I know we're all writers here, but in considering the ongoing comfort challenge I'm pretty sure MOST of us find our comfort in familiar stories. Saying that, writing about it is a whole other thing. Well done, good luck and well done earning that top story!
Scooby Doo where are you. Comfort is the word and so is this poem.
