As I strolled along the shore,
The colours were all there, I could see them all.
Well almost all, I'm a deuteranope,
That's colour blindness, but I still cope.
The blues, grays, yellows and black,
All apparent to my eye, only red do I lack.
I sank into the white sand, shouted "I am free!"
And began to ponder, what is unique to me?
My fingerprint, my voice, the obvious came first,
But I began to realize I have an undying thirst.
As do we all, but not two are the same,
So follow your own, or yourself is to blame.
I would love to leave a print on this Earth before I go,
Something positive, that helps future generations to grow.
In my life I will work to make a sustainable world,
Help self interest disappear, and let humane values swirl.
And keep Earth colourful, as it apparently is,
By putting an ease on production of the harmful biz.
Help switch to renewables, and get rid of black coal,
Seriously that's still a thing? It's not a hard goal.
I want to help people understand it's OK,
Just keep being you, that is the best way.
And I want to have fun, because balance is key,
Ultimately, I just want to be free.
My thirst may never be quenched, doesn't mean I can't grin,
After all life's a journey, not a destination.
