Colours of Me

I thought I always had to feel Yellow. Like the Sunshine in the excitement on the first day of Summer. Or a Daffodil in full bloom standing strong in spite of the wind.

But some days the Blue of the ocean is my soul. Deep and mysterious with hidden caverns and a world of unseen treasures.

Or Green like the forest. Getting lost in overflowing thoughts that feel like vines of steel pulling me down, only to take a deep breath and seeing the absolute beauty of all that surrounds me.

Red is how I sometimes feel. Like a burning Chilli with fire in my belly. Ready to defend myself against those who want to cut through my flesh.

Orange is my fire. My passion. My dance. My art. My being. It fills my cup. It’s a place of wonder that is truly mine and mine alone.

On my favourite days I’m Purple. A Lotus Flower. My eyes open as the sun rises and I stretch towards the light knowing I have all I need. Gratitude and hope run through my veins and I feel blessed to breathe the air of the morning after feeling submerged in the thick darkness of the night before.

I’m like a Rainbow
