Colors That Hold A Promise

The storm won’t last forever.

Let the rain fall

Let it burn my skin

I know the sun will shine when the sky's fall comes to its end

The walls of my mind are anything but thin

The wind makes collect calls-

But I've heard it's tirade and I've seen its end

So until then-

Until that part

Let the rain stream through the halls

Let it pour inside these walls

Let the ice burn my heart

The cold can't kill me anymore

The worst of nature's art cannot hurt me anymore

Though I float above the floor

I watch the drain all night

I know it's not forever that the rain will fall

I await the promise of day's light-

Where the sun's gaze will dry all the land

And again, I will stand under the array of colors all

Where all troubles are thrown as far from east to west

Rain may still fall and turn my solid ground to mud-

But so long as the sun rises from the east and sets in the west

There will not be any flood

About the Creator

Josh Morgan

Personally, writing began as a creative outlet, to be a means of processing and venting emotion, but it has become so much more. Something I want not to be just relatable, enjoyable and a good read, but to reach someone who is in need.
