Colors of my Soul
My soul is deep,
But my heart is wild.
Painted sunset skies
Show my inner child.
Indigo dreams are my reality,
I can not choose what you choose to see,
I am the stars, the plants, the sun and the moon,
Universal love is my song, my tune.
I am me and you are you,
In reality we are one not two.
Connected to all and everything,
Here on this journey as human beings.

You Had Me at Merlot
It was a beautiful spring afternoon. Karen sat at her desk in her office sending off her last report for the week. She took a deep breath and sighed. “Thank god it’s Friday!” She said aloud. Her cat Morris meowed, as if responding to her statement. It felt good to be done with her work week and have the weekend ahead of her, but deep down there was some disappointment. It was going to be her typical weekend that had been on a constant repeat for the last 10 months. Karen was single and lived alone with her cat, Morris, in an apartment just outside of San Francisco. She had dabbled in online dating with no luck and was starting to feel like there were no good available men in her area. Yes, she had met people and gone on a few dates, but all terrible experiences.

Craft Over Catharsis Challenge Winners
Craft Over Catharsis? What the hell does that even mean? The phrase came out of a curation meeting as a genuine question. We had been noticing that many challenge entries, across prompts, naturally gravitate toward trauma, grief, and personal reckoning. That makes sense. Writing is often cathartic. It's one of the ways we process what we've lived through.
