Color is the Song of Life

This morning as I awoke, first I heard birds. Eyes still closed, pausing before the day, I listened closely and pictured the birds like colored flying flowers, flowing into my being in the form of sound. Delicious sounds of honored winged creatures filled my thoughts with melodic colors. Eyes still closed, I awakened more and more as I savored the orangy red, the soft cool blue, and the yellowy green until they filled me and began to seep out through my eyes, in the shape of colored drops of living love. Soon, I was rocking in a soothing hammock of colors, where I swayed for a while until an awakening drive-for-more, gently lifted my lids and awakened my hands. Seeing with eyes that now knew how to see, I peered into the new day, where the colors were so bright that I could taste their delicious juices. And there beyond, a warm vitality-filled body of a world waited for me, called to me, desired for me to dive into the warm music of this day. Today then immediately came, with the communion of this threesome; color and sound, and I. Color is the song of life. It invited me in, and I have entered dancing to its sound.

About the Creator

Victoria Reyes

I was born where the river meets the ocean, and since then, I love connections. I am a lover, a writer, a student who loves to play, to seek to dream. I like to watch for the whispers and subtle gazes, as they give clues to what is real.
